DeShaun Ellison

DeShaun Ellison is an out‑of‑state freshman from Colorado Springs, Colorado, born in Fort Riley, Kansas. He is majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology on the pre‑med track. As the son of a retired U.S. Army servicemember, he takes pride in being part of KU’s military‑connected student community and values the principles of service, dedication, and resilience that have shaped his upbringing.

Motivated and goal‑oriented, DeShaun consistently seeks opportunities to challenge himself and grow both academically and personally. He approaches his studies with curiosity and determination, striving to make the most of his undergraduate experience at the University of Kansas.

He is deeply involved in the KU music program, performing with the KU Marching Band, KU Basketball Band, Saxophone Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. His musical involvement reflects his commitment to collaboration, discipline, and creative expression.

Outside of academics and rehearsals, DeShaun enjoys spending time with friends and unwinding by playing his favorite game, Roblox. He looks forward to continuing his growth at KU while contributing meaningfully to the VA MASC community and the broader campus environment.
